Invited speakers in standard symposia have a 30 minutes time slot – please prepare a PowerPoint presentation that lasts for up to 25 minutes maximum to allow 5 minutes for discussion after your talk. Plenary lecturers and invited speakers in FEBS Special Sessions or other sessions should consult their individual instructions on talk timing or contact their session chair or firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries.
Short Talk presentations in symposia mostly have a 15 minutes time slot – please prepare a PowerPoint presentation that lasts for up to 10 minutes maximum to allow 5 minutes for discussion after your talk. In certain symposia, short talk presentations have a 10 minutes time slot – in this case, please prepare a PowerPoint presentation that lasts for up to 8 minutes maximum to allow 2 minutes for discussion after your talk. If you are a short talk presenter, please check the program overview at the end of April to find your talk timing.
If using a PowerPoint presentation (or any other PC-based application), please bring it on a USB Memory stick and load it on one of the Congress computers in the Speakers' Ready Room at least 2 hours before the start of the session in which you are speaking. The Speakers' Ready Room will be marked clearly with signage at the Congress venue.
If combining video films with PowerPoint, please make sure to check it in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during a coffee or lunch break prior to your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session.

SPEAKERS´ READY ROOM - Uploading your presentation onsite
Your presentation must be handed over to the technicians in the SPEAKERS´ READY ROOM as much in advance as possible, but no later than TWO HOURS BEFORE the beginning of the corresponding session. The presentation for an early morning session must be handed over the day before.
In the SPEAKERS´ READY ROOM, you will be assisted by the technician, who will help you to download your presentation to the intranet. You will also be able to review your presentation and to verify that it has been transferred correctly to the network.

In the lecture room
Your presentation will be transferred directly to the lecture room through the intranet.
Once the presentation is launched on the computer in the respective lecture room, you will advance your own slideshow using the remote control.
All speakers are requested to be present in the lecture room 10 minutes before the session starts to meet with the session chair. Please, do not come at the last minute with your own computer into the lecture room: you will NOT BE ABLE to connect it. All presentations must be downloaded in the SPEAKERS´ READY ROOM beforehand.
If any problems occur, there will be assistance staff in each lecture room.
Important note for Macintosh users
In order to use a MAC presentations on a PC-compatible computer please note that you need to prepare it according to the instructions below, before bringing it to the Speakers' Ready Room:
- Use a common font, such as Arial, Times New Roman, Verdana etc. (special fonts might be changed to a default font on a PowerPoint based PC).
- Insert pictures as JPG files (and not TIF, PNG or PICT - these images will not be visible on a PowerPoint-based PC).
